Getting started
What is BootForge
A native Android app for building and managing Ventoy-powered multiboot USB drives straight from your phone — no PC required.
BootForge turns your Android phone into a USB rescue and install workshop. Plug a USB drive into your phone with an OTG adapter, prepare it as a Ventoy multiboot drive, add as many bootable ISO files as it holds, and boot a real PC from any of them — all without a second computer.
It’s built for the moment your laptop won’t start, you need to reinstall an operating system, or you’re a technician in the field with only a phone in your pocket.
What you can do with it
- Prepare a drive — install a Ventoy-compatible multiboot layout on any USB flash drive.
- Add bootable images — copy ISO/IMG/WIM files from your phone, or download them in the app (Pro).
- Browse a curated catalog — find Linux distributions, rescue tools, disk utilities and more, each linked to its official source.
- Verify checksums — confirm a downloaded image hasn’t been corrupted or tampered with.
- Manage your drive — see what’s on it, free up space, and delete images you no longer need.
- Keep Ventoy fresh — update it in place without losing your images, or reinstall when needed.
- Boot a PC — look up your computer’s boot-menu key and fix common boot problems.
How it works
A Ventoy drive is special: instead of holding one operating system, it has a small boot loader plus a large data partition. You simply drop ISO files onto the data partition and Ventoy shows them all in a menu when you boot. Adding or removing an OS is just copying or deleting a file — no reformatting.
BootForge does the hard part (writing the boot loader, formatting the data partition, and verifying every byte) and then gets out of your way.
Who it’s for
BootForge works for two kinds of people, and adapts to both:
- First-timers who want safe defaults, clear warnings, and to be told what to do next.
- Technicians and power users who want partition-style choices, Ventoy version control, diagnostics, and the technical details on demand.
What makes it trustworthy
- No ads, no tracking, no accounts. BootForge never shows ads or sends analytics.
- Official sources only. The catalog links to publishers’ own sites; downloads are checksum-verified.
- Nothing is erased without a clear, explicit warning and a confirmation you have to tick.
- Open about what it uses. Ventoy is free software (GPLv3); BootForge downloads it unchanged and is not affiliated with the Ventoy project.
