Privacy, licenses & trademarks
No ads or tracking, how BootForge uses Ventoy under the GPL, and third-party trademark notices.
BootForge is a professional utility, not an ad platform. Here’s exactly where it stands on privacy and the software and names it relies on.
Privacy
- No ads.
- No tracking or analytics SDKs.
- No accounts to create or sign into.
BootForge does what you ask — detect a drive, download an image you chose, write to a drive — and nothing in the background. Network access happens only for actions you initiate: fetching Ventoy’s boot files, loading the catalog, or downloading an ISO you picked.
Ventoy and the GPL
The software that makes your drive bootable is Ventoy, free software © the Ventoy project and its contributors, licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 (GPLv3).
- BootForge downloads Ventoy’s official release files and writes them to your drive unchanged.
- It does not modify, bundle, or redistribute them.
- Ventoy is provided by its authors with no warranty, to the extent permitted by law.
- Ventoy’s full licence text and corresponding source are linked inside the app under Settings → Open-source notices.
BootForge is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Ventoy project.
Trademarks
Third-party names, logos, and product names shown in BootForge — operating system brands, the projects in the catalog — belong to their respective owners and are used only for identification. BootForge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those owners unless explicitly stated, and does not host, modify, or redistribute their operating system images.
Where the catalog points to a download, it uses the project’s official website, vendor, or an authorised mirror. For Windows specifically: Microsoft, Windows, and the Windows logo are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation; BootForge is not affiliated with Microsoft and does not host or distribute Microsoft software.
You can read the full notices in the app under Trademarks & disclaimers and Open-source notices.
